About Me I am a native of Texas, though I do not assciate myself with the Texan caricature. I do not speak with a drawl, nor do I spew money and oil. By native, I mean my ancestors predate the Texan caricature.
Music I enjoy most types of music especially music by women...Enya, Stevie Nicks, Annie Lennox, Dixie Chics...
Movies I like thinking type movies, movies that stay with you long after you've left the theatre. Recent movies I've enjoyed, Pan's Labyrinth, Babel, and movies in which women are transformed like Waitress, the Color Purple, Living Out Loud--movies where the woman does NOT end up with the man.
TV I try not to watch too much TV, but when I do I enjoy mindless comedies reruns like Sex and the City, Will and Grace, Seinfeld...
Books Anything by Jane Austen, Virginia Woolf, or even Bill Shakespeare. I also enjoy books on women's spirituality.
Likes I'm most happy sitting in my garden early in the morning surrounded by my cats and dogs, while a variety of birds chirp merrily at thier feeders...it's always interesting watching the fat cats try to sneak up on them.
Dislikes Our current government and all that it has wrought upon us.
Hobbies Writing, poetry and fiction, only trouble is, I can't seem to find the time to finish anything I start.

Do our beloved departed visit us in dreams?

    Saturday, June 30, 2007, 10:58 PM [General]

    Hi all,

I have recently lost my mother and have been experiencing a great sense of loss and sadness.  I decided today that I would start focusing on the beauty of my memories.  I keep reliving images of my beautiful mother and instead of focusing on the loss, I want to focus on the beauty of the memory.

Last night I saw a quirky little film called Je'taime Paris.  A film that strings together a series of vigniettes directed by some world class directors.  One of the stories in particular caught my attention.  It starred Juliette Binoche as a grieving mother who has recently lost her son.  It caught my attention because the mother encounters a cowboy (her son loved cowboys), who brought her to visit her son.  After her brief visit, the son goes off with the cowboy.  It was a dream type sequence.  This caught my eye because it got me to wonderring if perhaps our beloved departed do indeed visit us?  Through dreasm?  In the form of dragonflys?  What do ya'll think?  Have you ever experienced such visitations?

I appreciate your comments and hope that perhaps we can share our thoughts.

    Blessings,

    Maggie May
